Horrem station is a railway junction in the town of Horrem in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It connects the Cologne–Aachen high-speed railway and the Erft Railway, running between Horrem and Düsseldorf. It is served by S-Bahn line S 12 on the Düren–Horrem–Cologne–Troisdorf–Au (Sieg) route and the S 13 on the Horrem–Cologne–Cologne/Bonn Airport–Troisdorf route. The NRW-Express (RE 1) and the Rhein-Sieg-Express (RE 9) also stop in Horrem.
The entrance hall of the station is due to be demolished in 2012 and completely rebuilt by 2013. The new station will be built as part of a pilot project of Deutsche Bahn’s "StationGreen XL-Modul" program and will be built according to strict ecological criteria and be equipped with environmentally friendly technology.[1]
